Pepsi Minis X SHAQ

Pepsi Mini Can X SHAQ

1995 was a “big” year and not just because I was born that year. It was the era of big everything:
big personalities, big packaging, big cultural moments. Pepsi had Shaq promoting the Big Slam
1-Liter in-store, and Skee-Lo’s “I Wish (I Was A Little Bit Taller)” was on repeat on the radio.

Fast forward to 2023 and Pepsi came to us with a clear challenge: how do we make
Pepsi Mini Cans a bigger want for consumers? Not just a smaller option — but the option.

That’s where 1995 came back into play. Inspired by the cultural moments of Shaq and Skee-Lo back
in the 90s, we flipped the whole idea of “big” on its head. What if small was actually the aspirational thing?

We brought Shaq and Skee-Lo back together and re-recorded the track with a twist: “I Wish I Was A
Little Bit Smaller.” Same nostalgia, totally new punchline. It became a playful, self-aware way
to spotlight the benefits of Mini Cans — smaller size, same bold Pepsi flavor and energy.

From there, we extended the idea across digital and e-commerce with content built for how people
shop today — thumb-stopping, conversion-minded, and culturally fluent. A little throwback.
A little wink. And a smart way to turn a “bigger is better” era into a modern case for mini.
