Fast forward to 2023 and Pepsi came to us with a clear challenge: how do we make Pepsi Mini Cans a bigger want for consumers? Not just a smaller option — but the option. That’s where 1995 came back into play. Inspired by the cultural moments of Shaq and Skee-Lo back in the 90s, we flipped the whole idea of “big” on its head. What if small was actually the aspirational thing? We brought Shaq and Skee-Lo back together and re-recorded the track with a twist: “I Wish I Was A Little Bit Smaller.” Same nostalgia, totally new punchline. It became a playful, self-aware way to spotlight the benefits of Mini Cans — smaller size, same bold Pepsi flavor and energy. Her soulful songs have influenced so many artists in the past and still today. Her music was her way of expressing her own truths and feelings about race and equality. I wanted to use watercolor as my medium in order to mimic the smoothness of her voice. I used deep blues and purples to emulate the soul and depth of her lyrics. Tragically, Catherine, a lover of all animals and creatures, lost her life at Sandy Hook Elementary School when she was just six years old. The sanctuary offers refuge for farm animals, animal adoption events, wildlife rehabilitation programs, and educational workshops.
